Practice today was great, it felt so incredibly professional hahaha. I have gone to see a few Avalanche practices back home, however, it was never a full blown practice with drills and such. They seemed to have more free skate type of practices where the players who wanted to come would come and work on things that they wanted to work on, no real organization. That was the type of practice we had today, we only had about ten guys including two goalies. We scrimmaged a little bit just to get some game situational experience and the players tried out their new gear, they don't seem to like it too too much. They say their gear is pretty stiff and not too comfortable. So I guess I didn't miss out on much haha. So practice was simply just some fun. Which was great to be able to go out there and just have fun like I used to. Hockey is still super fun for me but at practice it often feels much more like work. Because it does mean so much for me out here and this is a huge opportunity that I have, it feels much like a job sometimes. Especially since it is everyday pretty much. But I couldn't ask for a much better job.... unless they paid me for it haha.
I just got back from Chris's surprise 18th birthday party. I had a ton of fun, we just kind of hung out and talked around a fire for most the night then we watched a movie to wind down at the end. It was really fun I met some of his friends from school and a couple other hockey guys from the midget team that him and a few of the other boys play a little with as well as on our team. It was a ton of fun, however, I am super ready for bed at this point haha. I think I am going to go and watch them play tomorrow, they really wanted me to come, I think me and Chris will become pretty close. Aaron Ward, he is a defenseman on my team we talked a lot tonight, he is a really nice kid, I think that we will become pretty close as well. We talked most of the night it was great. I also met this kid from the midget team, a goalie, I do not know his real name but everyone just called him Penguin.... Haha I love it haha. He was really nice too, we talked quite a bit too. I'm excited to see how those relationships progress.
Emily went to a youth group retreat tonight and will be gone most the weekend from school. I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store for her out there. I will be praying for him to show her clearly what he has for her. Again, I cannot believe the amount of blessings that God pours out on this relationship, it is only through him that it is truly possible because it is truly impossible to even completely comprehend it all from a human mind let alone imagine doing all that he has done on our own, it is simply not possible. I love you Sweet Thing!
12 Days now!!!!!!!!!! O MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE Y'ALL!!!!!
